Samsung Releases 11 Players, Including Kim Ho-jae and Noh Geon-woo

 Professional baseball Samsung Lions released 11 players.


Samsung announced on the 25th, "We have decided not to renew contracts with 11 players, considering both the current team composition and future development aspects."


According to Samsung, it gave up on renewing contracts with pitchers Noh Geon-woo, Park Se-woong, Jang Ji-hoon, Kim Yong-ha, Kim Jun-woo, Maeng Seong-ju and Park Yong-min, infielders Kim Ho-jae, Lee Tae-hoon and Yoon Jeong-hoon, and outfielder Song Jun-seok.


Kim Ho-jae, who debuted in the KBO League in 2018 and played six seasons for Samsung, is leaving the team. 


He appeared in 286 career games and had a batting average of 0.245, 92 hits, 1 home run, 27 RBI, and an OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) of 0.610.


Kim Ho-jae stood out in the 2020 season with a batting average of 0.322, but his batting average was only 0.227 in 2021, and he showed extreme slump in 2022 with a batting average of 0.143. He appeared in 75 games this year, but his batting average was only 0.216 with 9 RBIs. 스포츠토토


Veteran left-handed pitcher Noh Geon-woo also failed to avoid release. 

Noh Gun-woo, who started his professional career with NC Dinos in 2013, joined Samsung in 2020 and played for four seasons. 

He left a record of 175 games over 9 seasons in the KBO League, with 7 wins, 20 losses, and 15 holds, and an earned run average of 6.44. In the 2023 season, he appeared in 16 games, with only 1 loss and 1 save, and an ERA of 7.30.
